2025 Gourd Art Festival Workshops

Things to Know

The Show-Me Missouri Art Festival is known for its variety and quality of workshops offered throughout the weekend. The 2025 year's selection of workshops is amazing.

Again in 2025 we are inviting artists from many disciplines, such as Fiber, Clay, Wood Workers, Basket Makers, Painters, Leather Workers, Metal Workers, and Multimedia to join our Gourd Artists and participate in the Show-Me Gourd Society Art Festival. Workshops will begin Friday June 27th. The festival is open to the public on Saturday June 28 8:00am-5:30pm and Sunday June 29 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Watch this website for workshop announcements and availability. Questions? Contact Toni Mickle — tmickle4039@yahoo.com

The last day to register for workshops online is the Monday, June 23. After this date workshop registrations will be taken on a walk-in basis, according to availability at the SMGS Festival. Registrations for non-canceled classes will still be accepted up to and during the festival, provided the teacher is able to accommodate walk-ins.

  • The teachers set a minimum number of students required in order to accommodate their time and travel expenses. A workshop registration deadline is also set. The current registration counts will be conveyed to teachers on Friday, 4 weeks prior to the festival. If the teacher’s minimum has not been met, they may decide to cancel that workshop. If a teacher decides to cancel a workshop, SMGS asks to be notified by Wednesday of the following week. Anyone who has previously registered and paid online for a canceled class will be contacted and refunds will be made. (See SMGS Refund Policy below.)
  • Note:
    • Teachers must use their own original artwork or obtain written permission to teach from original creator.
    • Your class payment is collected by the Show-Me Gourd Society on behalf of the class instructor.  SMGS takes a $6, $12 or $18 fee (based on class duration ) from that payment as a service charge to help defray the costs of the facility, the remainder goes directly to the instructor.

SMGS Refund Policy

Students registered for any teacher/SMGS cancelled workshop will be notified of the cancellation and their full registration fee will be refunded. Cancelled classes will be removed from the website and students will be encouraged to enroll in another class.

All classes should be cancelled individually and refunded individually. If SMGS cancels a class, students receive a full refund. If students cancel a class they receive a refund minus a $5.00/class processing fee—as long as they request the refund prior to the refund deadline.

If a student wishes to cancel out of a class, they need to email the Workshop Registration Coordinator.  The Coordinator will work with the SMGS Treasurer to process the request for a cancellation/refund (minus a $5.00/class processing fee).   Any cancellation/refund requests received after 2 weeks prior to the SMGS Festival will be processed on a case by case basis and are not guaranteed.  Refunds may not be processed until after the SMGS Festival.

If a student wishes to cancel out of one workshop and register for a different workshop they must do so by contacting the Workshop Registration Coordinator for further information on registration into a different class.

Since we pay teachers at the end of the festival, we can no longer offer refunds after the festival.

Note: Your class payment is collected by the Show-Me Gourd Society on behalf of the class instructor. The Show-Me Gourd Society keeps $6 (2-hour class), $12 (4-hour class), or $18 (all-day class) from that as a service charge to help defray the costs of the facility. The remainder goes directly to the instructor.

There may be final adjustments to this policy.
